Prize

Answer

The prize is currently £100. Typically, we transfer the money directly to your bank account shortly after the Award Ceremony at which you graduate. You will receive a letter at the ceremony asking for your bank details.

The real value of the prize, though, is that it marks you out as the very top graduate in Computing at the University of Plymouth in your year, something you can subtly refer to on your CV and LinkedIn.

Prize

Answer

The prize is usually formally announced as you are presented for your degree on stage during the graduation ceremony. Typically, you will receive the framed certificate from a Company representative (normally Alastair Revell) just before the ceremony, which will be photographed.

Sometimes, the prize has been presented during a private meeting.

Prize

Answer

No. The appropriate University Award Board will notify Revell Research Systems that you have received the prize.

Prize

Answer

The prize will be available indefinitely. The Company will provide twelve months' notice of its withdrawal should the Board of Directors decide to terminate its award.

In essence, without further notice, the prize will be available to current final year students, who expect to graduate at the end of their academic year.

Prize

Answer

The presentation is typically photographed, which forms the basis of the publicity celebrating your achievement.

The Company usually sends a press release to appropriate news channels. It also normally produces content on its web site and on this site, which is often promoted through social media.

It has become customary to particularly celebrate the new recipient's achievement with their illustrious forebears on LinkedIn by tagging all past recipients each year.

You are welcome to tag the Company and Alastair Revell on social media platforms. We will endeavour to amplify your own posts!

Prize

Answer

The prime benefit (other than some cash!) is that you will be easily able to highlight that you were the best performing student in your year in any BSc (Hons) programme within the cognate area of Computing.

It is the sort of thing that you can easily put on your Curriculum Vitae and mention when applying to prospective employers.

Prize

Answer

You can spend the money on anything you want! We hope you will spend it wisely on something of value rather than on a few beers, but we place no restrictions on its use whatsoever!
