Welcome

Welcome to the web site for the Revell Research Systems Prize at the University of Plymouth, where you will learn about the Prize, its recipients and its history. The Prize annually celebrates the outstanding excellence and achievements of the top student graduating in Computing each year from the University of Plymouth.

Revell Research Systems has awarded an annual prize at the University of Plymouth, celebrating excellence in Computing, every year since 2006.

The Consultancy established the Revell Research Systems Prize at the University of Plymouth in 2006 to mark its twenty-first year in business. The Prize reflects its long-standing commitment to academic excellence within Computing.

The Prize is currently awarded to the top full time final year student enrolled on a BSc (Hons) programme within the cognate area of Computing at the University of Plymouth in the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics.

By recognising exceptional academic achievement, the Prize provides recipients with a valuable distinction as they begin their professional careers. It highlights their status as the leading Computing graduate of their year and serves as a mark of excellence that can help them stand out to prospective employers.

Revell Research Systems is proud to celebrate the achievements of these outstanding students and hopes that the award continues to support and enhance their future careers in Computing and Information Technology.

The University of Plymouth's graduation ceremonies take place at venues across the city, celebrating the achievements of students in one of the United Kingdom's most distinctive coastal locations. Known as Britain's Ocean City, Plymouth has a rich maritime heritage shaped by centuries of exploration, innovation, and seafaring tradition. The city's waterfront setting, historic landmarks, and connection to the sea provide a memorable backdrop as graduates mark the completion of their studies and prepare for the next stage of their personal and professional journeys.

Revell Research Systems maintains a close relationship with the University of Plymouth and regularly supports a range of academic and student-focused events throughout the year. These include project and poster showcase competitions, where final-year students present the results of their research and development work.

Such events consistently demonstrate the high academic standards achieved by University of Plymouth students and highlight the innovation, creativity, and technical excellence of those preparing to enter careers in computing and technology. They provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of IT professionals, researchers, and digital innovators.

The Revell Research Systems Prize was established to recognise exceptional academic achievement and encourage the next generation of Computing professionals to realise their full potential. Reflecting the Consultancy's long-standing commitment to professional excellence, the prize celebrates students who demonstrate both outstanding technical ability and the potential to make a lasting contribution to the profession.

Over the years, the Prize has recognised some of the most talented Computing graduates emerging from the West Country. Previous recipients have progressed into a wide variety of careers spanning software engineering, cybersecurity, digital transformation, consultancy, research and business leadership. Their success reflects the high standards of achievement that the award seeks to acknowledge and encourage.

The Consultancy is particularly pleased to remain in contact with many former prize winners, who continue to represent the cream of Computing graduates from the region. It has been rewarding to follow their professional journeys and witness the positive impact they make within their organisations, their communities and wider society. Their achievements embody the values the Prize was created to promote: excellence, aspiration and a commitment to making technology count.
