Revell Research Systems is delighted to announce the launch of a significantly revised website for the Revell Research Systems Prize at the University of Plymouth, marking the twenty-first award to be presented since the prize was established in 2006. The refreshed website celebrates more than two decades of academic excellence and provides a comprehensive record of the students whose achievements have earned them recognition as the University's leading Computing graduates.
The prize was originally established in 2006 to celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of Revell Research Systems, which was founded by Alastair Revell in 1985. What began as a way of marking an important company milestone has since become a lasting commitment to recognising academic excellence and supporting the next generation of computing professionals. Over the years, the award has become a respected symbol of achievement within the University of Plymouth's computing community.
Since its inception, the prize has been awarded annually to the highest-performing final-year student on an undergraduate programme within the cognate area of Computing. The new website reflects the rich history of the award and honours the twenty-one exceptional graduates who have received the prize since its foundation, many of whom have gone on to establish successful careers across a wide range of technology disciplines.
The updated site features expanded information about the origins of the award, detailed profiles of recipients and a growing archive celebrating their achievements. It also highlights the enduring partnership between Revell Research Systems and the University of Plymouth, a relationship that has enabled the prize to flourish continuously for more than twenty years.
Commenting on the anniversary, Alastair Revell, founder of both Revell Research Systems and the Revell Research Systems Prize, said:
"I am immensely proud that the prize has now recognised twenty-one outstanding graduates from the University of Plymouth. When the award was created in 2006 to celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of Revell Research Systems, I could never have imagined the impact it would have over the following decades.
"It is tremendously rewarding to look back at the achievements of all the recipients and the careers they have gone on to build.
"What also strikes me is that some future winners of the prize now may not even have been born when it was established. That is a remarkable thought and a powerful reminder of how the prize now spans generations of computing students.
"I hope it will continue to recognise and inspire outstanding talent for many more years to come."
