Chartered Professionalism

Revell Research Systems is committed to, and a strong proponent of, chartered professionalism.

We are Chartered IT Professionals and Chartered Engineers, practising as management and technology consultants, based in Exeter in Devon in the West Country, but working across the United Kingdom and beyond. A chartered professional, usually a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) or Chartered Engineer (CEng), supervises every client assignment that we undertake, which sets us apart from the majority of IT businesses.

Chartered
Professionalism

In the United Kingdom, a Royal Charter may grant a body the power to run a central register of suitably qualified practitioners in a given profession.

HM Privy Council assures that those bodies granted the power by the Sovereign in Council to confer chartered designations apply the same high standard, which is broadly equivalent to a Masters-level education with five years post-qualification professional experience.

Our commitment to professionalism is second to none. Every fee earner working for the Company is a member of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT and personally abides by its Code of Practice and is subject to its disciplinary regulation.

This assures every client that their work will be led by a highly competent professional and executed to the highest of professional and ethical standards.

Chartered professionalism is highly relevant to clients because of the assurance it brings.

Chartered professionals are subject to the disciplinary regulations of the registering body that has the authority under Royal Charter to confer the title. Registrants can be struck off if they are found to be wanting. Registration requires an independent third party to assess the registrant's competence and commitment to act professionally and ethically at all times. The registrant must demonstrate they are keeping their skills up-to-date by meeting minimum continuing professional development (CPD) standards.

While many practitioners may be competent, act professionally and uphold high ethical standards, clients cannot be sure without the independent assurance that chartered registration brings.

Vendor certification is intrinsically about supporting the commercial ecosystem around a particular product. Educational and professional qualifications do not address ongoing professional and ethical considerations because they are not subject to continuing disciplinary regulation that might result in their removal.

Many schemes also do not have the authority of a Royal Charter, which lessens their credibility. Higher education bodies in the United Kingdom confer degrees using powers granted by a Royal Charter or provided by an Act of Parliament.

Ultimately, a chartered professional must prove themselves to be well-educated, currently competent and suitably experienced; and submit themselves to professional scrutiny and disciplinary regulation as well as abiding by an external code of practice. They must continuously update their skills and knowledge to maintain their registration throughout their career.

Our clients are assured that the work they entrust to us is executed to the very highest of professional and ethical standards because we guarantee that their assignment will be supervised by a highly competent chartered professional.
