James Prescott was awarded the 2019 Revell Research Systems Prize as the top final year BSc (Hons) undergraduate student within the cognate area of Computing.
James Prescott studied at the University of Plymouth between 2014 and 2019, graduating with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. During his studies, he gained industry experience through a placement at the Met Office, working as an IT Trainee in Front and Backend Web Development from July 2017 to June 2018.
Following graduation in 2019, he joined the Met Office as a Graduate Trainee, remaining in the role until March 2020.
In March 2020, James joined Anaplan as an Associate Software Engineer. He spent just over two years in the position before being promoted to Software Engineer in April 2022.
James continues to work at Anaplan, where he has been involved in the development of the company's connected planning platform, with experience spanning React, TypeScript, Kotlin and cloud-based technologies.
