Richard Burton was the eighth person to be awarded the prize.

Richard Burton was awarded the 2013 Revell Research Systems Prize as the top final year BSc (Hons) undergraduate student within the cognate area of Computing.

Richard Burton secured a position with IBM as a Technical Solutions Specialist before graduation, taking up his new job in October 2013. He worked on various projects with IBM, including as a Java EE developer and then as a technical lead for a major eCommerce retailer.

He left IBM to join Google in 2017, where he has held a series of progressively more senior roles ever since. He is currently Senior Product Manager for Generative AI on Search.
